Between above and below, kiln formed and coldworked glass, 61cm x 61cm, 2021.
Canberra based contemporary glass artist, Lucy Palmer, utilises the inherent qualities of glass to suggest the calming effects of landscape and to explore the relationship between physical spaces and the mind. Her works are made for and about the senses, as opposed to work which represents a space purely through visual and physical characteristics. The restrained colour schemes in her kiln formed glass pieces draw in the viewer, as texture, depth and colour gradient reveal themselves and build an inviting a space for reflection, curiosity and getting ‘lost’ in the works.
