Natural light is a showcase of recent paintings by Sandra Brand, Astro Spiller and Edward Essing. The trio spent 2022 in Europe and Israel studying the old masters and painting their surrounds. New insights were then brought back and applied across New South Wales from the Blue Mountains to Sydney’s North-West to the Central Coast. The result is a diverse collection of work that focus on the forms and atmospheric effects produced by natural light’s infinite expressions.

Edward Essing began his art studies in earnest while working an office job. Awarded the A.M.E. Bale art scholarship in 2020 allowed him to fully focus on art making. He attended Julian Ashton Art School 2017-2019 and has been the recipient of William Fletcher Scholarship (2019} and Robert Le Gay Brereton Memorial Prize, Art Gallery of NSW (2017).
