Bones are tough, moths are fragile, but both have only a limited time on the planet. These little Grapevine Moths were found on my verandah and the very weathered kangaroo bone in the paddock. If asked, I wonder whether the roo and moths would have considered that they had had enough time. Days seem long sometimes, but these creatures were here to do what they had to do for only a few days. Through our actions, deliberate or unintentional, we can often cut short even these few days.
The title for this work comes from the poem "The Waiting Life" by well known Australian poet, Dorothea Mackellar.
