Trees Never Sleep explores the “in-out” experience for the viewer of partially observed
landscapes becoming pictorial elements. The interplay of positive and negative space guides us deeper into the narrative of the landscape, focusing on specific locations and bringing to light the elements that contribute to the “bigger picture”.

The vertical lines and whitewash serve as a screen or curtain, spotlighting a scene, a place, a viewpoint, while offering a sense of seclusion. Concurrently, it obscures and reveals the past and future. It’s a contemplation of our role and obligations within the landscape, with trees as the timeless, silent observers. ~ SG
